Day 999
If you have something to say, speak up! Ranger would agree and never hesitates to voice his opinion!
Being one who often holds her tongue, speaking up is a challenge. That does not necessarily mean I am not heard…it simply means I hesitate to embrace a bold stand.
There are certainly people in our lives who take full advantage of their freedom of speech. There are times when you wish there were some caveats to that right. Perhaps, something like…
Speak with :
*kindness
*honesty
*respect
*thoughtfulness
The hearts of others have been honed to have their own opinions and thoughts. Individual experiences mold all of us to any communication delivered or received.
Going back to the list of “speaking Rules”, the same goes for listening. Some of the most beloved and respected people in my life have been those who have perfected their listening skills. Hearing my words and searching my heart beneath what I have shared are gifts indeed (Thank you Dad, Bob J., Mac, Libby and Marlene…you have always listened!)
Communication is an art and I need to continue to work on my listening skills. As for Ranger, he is all bark and no bite…a better speaker than listener!
