Day 975

Comfort comes in many forms. Today, as the cold whisks us indoors, we all gather by the fire and warm our feet and paws…comfort.

When I was a little girl, I often found serenity at my Nanny’s house. Upon entering her door, the smells were the first to calm any fears or concerns I might have. Fresh bread or cookies permeated the air, along with an overarching aroma of love and acceptance…comfort.

Memories can offer peace. Places, people and positive experiences can bring such feelings of happiness. Walking down Memory Lane can warm the heart over and over…comfort.

Words can offer contentment. When offered in a gentle, supportive manner, the spoken word is a true gift. How often have we gone to a mentor to seek wisdom and guidance? For me, I always walk away with a peaceful heart…comfort.

Being near to our ‘Safe People’ is always a sanctuary. Their nearness, acceptance and hugs can calm any fears…comfort.

There are so many avenues to comfort. We need only look around and be open to respite, in its many forms, and lean in to calm our angst. Today, the fireplace soothes any worries and the Goldens offer their special magic…comfort.
