Day 926
In preparation for Thanksgiving, I decided to give thanks for every blessing that I encounter as I swung my legs towards the floor! Ohhh…warm slippers! That started the barrage!
* Ability to stand up!
*Flipping the bedside lamp on!
*Check my phone for messages!
*Warm water!
*Sweet Goldens!
*Mr. Mac!
That took all of two minutes! I knew my “Thankful Meter” was going to be off the charts by the time I headed down the stairs! There just had to be a better way to be thankful without nickel and diming every gift.
Lilly and I meandered down to visit our dear friends at Walker. Always the star attraction, Miss Lilly strutted down the halls wagging that tail and looking for her next treat!
Near the end of our time there, we made our usual stop at the apartment of 101-year-old Don. I decided to ask others about their biggest blessing. Not surprisingly, he responded, “My biggest blessing would be my children.” After serving in WWII, running a successful business and so much more, this man chose his children as his biggest blessing.
Recognizing that we are surrounded by countless blessings, it is a good reminder that people (and pups) are really the true gifts of life!
