Day 927
We had a lovely family Thanksgiving brunch followed by an opportunity to take some of our Walker seniors out to dinner. My heart is full.
As we sat around the restaurant table I suddenly made a discovery! I announced that we were all gathered there because of a couple Goldens! Lilly and Ranger led me right into some beautiful friendships by simply taking me through the hallways of Walker! These lasting relationships have morphed into deep, abiding connections with people I would have never met without a leash in my hand.
How many wonderful people do we walk by in a day without recognizing the potential for a relationship? It takes the smallest intervention to open a door to friendship!
I would never have met Mac if daughter Amanda hadn’t stopped to chat with him when she was ten. My college roommate would have only been an acquaintance if she had not swooped in when I broke my leg. Sammy would be someone else’s pup if I hadn’t chatted about puppies at a veterinarian appointment. The list of serendipitous meetings could go on and on!
So tonight, I count my blessings as I cherish the connections that have grown into beloved people in my life. I also want to be more aware of potential relationships that might be missed if I am not mindful as people walk in and out of my life!
