Day 924

The Goldens love these bones! Originally, the bones were filled with peanut butter, but now they are handed one (with a small amount of natural peanut butter) each morning, and they line up to get their treat. The rest of the day, they are available and, often each pup has one within chewing distance… just in case they might need to chew!

Throughout the day, they will carry their favorite around and place it under a paw! We often wonder how they choose their “favorite” for the day. Tomorrow is always a new choice that will be their bone for that day!

How do they choose? How do WE choose the items that become our own?

Shopping for gifts the other day, I knew just what my loved ones might like. I was also aware of my own choices as I wandered the aisles. A certain calendar, a book title, a special wall decor…each one must have caught my eye for a reason.

The things we surround ourselves with often bring us joy. These possessions seem to be attached to undefined memories that make us who we are today. A ring that reminds us of a loved one, wall art that brings us back in time, a book that might transport us to a faraway dream… all from our past.

If you really want to know someone deeply, look at the treasures they gather. Those items will tell the story of their lives, memories and dreams.
