Day 866
We enjoyed a front row seat to the football game last night! Even the Goldens seemed to enjoy the energy pouring from the field…I know their human family members did!
When half-time arrived, I left my pups to guard the house and sauntered down to watch the marching band from a better vantage point. The smile on my face was partially for the exuberant band members, but also for the memories of my own time marching on that field. My favorite high school memories often include a snare drum strapped on my body!
All those years ago, I loved the music and fun, but the best part was the people in the band. They were committed, kind, energetic and loyal. Surrounding yourself with amazing people sets your own bar high to follow suit.
Not much has changed over the years. It has been my good fortune and honor to find myself in circles of excellent people. It would seem that I am drawn to peers who believe in “kindness." No matter what the venue, they never fail to steer me in the right direction.
Although our peers help define who we are, we are the ones who decide what kind of person we CHOOSE to be. Emulating group members is a choice, but their examples can certainly shape people on their journey.
Along with other, uplifting groups, surrounding myself with Goldens should lead me to be a better person each day!
