Day 823
When you walk through our home, it is the most treacherous, beautiful obstacle course EVER!!! Where we are… they are!
On the one hand, we get an amazing physical therapy session. Our workout consists of high-stepping, lunges and squats (to lovingly pet them). On the other hand, it is a rather dangerous agility test for two senior humans! We must always be aware of tails, paws and bodies…lest we take a tumble!
I have had a number of Golden injuries through the years. One of my “favorites” included a trip to the hospital with a head injury. The concrete won that time! Later that week, I discovered I had a “companion” broken elbow that had been overlooked due to the excitement over the bump to my head.
The reason I have fond memories of that incident is because I was recognized as a celebrity! Well…Ranger was the star. The ER doctor passed my cubicle and, after glancing in, stopped in his tracks and said, “You have Goldens!” Taking his phone out, he shared pictures of his own fur babies and then told me he would take care of me right away. Accompanying me to the CT scan and then a few other needed stops, he got me out of there in no time flat! Thank you Ranger!
I still step gingerly through my Golden sea, knowing I must be cautious! Even if I get special treatment at the hospital, who would walk my babies if I should fall?
