Day 820
There are so many things that make pups afraid. Poor Ranger developed a hot spot and now wears the Cone of Shame! The veterinary clinic is not his favorite place, so when they took him in the back without Mama he was beside himself!
On the home front, we have been trying to locate a LOUD sensor that squeals with delight every hour or so. Just when you think you have figured out its origin, thr little bugger mysteriously whistles at you from another direction. It is a bit like playing Marco Polo in the pool. Needless to say, all four Goldens dislike that noise with a passion…especially Gus!
This little game of Cat and Mouse has been going on for a month or two. We have had our air conditioning checked, the security people out to check our system and even resorted to unplugging our Alexa machines. The chase continued as did the noise!
A few people suggested we record the sound. That was reasonable, but the shriek only lasted a few seconds and we are not that quick! Although we tried and tried, the little gremlin would retreat with an imagined smirk.
Today, I was up in the hallway and turned to head down the staircase. Suddenly, right over my head, a rogue smoke detector let out a scream! Looking at the red display light, I said, “Busted!” and actually did a little dance! I gleefully reported my victory to Mac and we took the offending machine right off the ceiling, removed the batteries and stared at it for a full minute! I truly expected it to retaliate!
Silence is now Golden. The battle is won and the dogs are at peace. What a relief!!!
