Day 770

Ranger caught a glimpse of himself in a mirror recently and seemed momentarily confused. Eventually, he decided the other dog was not a threat and moved away. Poor buddy...I wonder what went through his mind!

When people see their reflection, there seems to be a couple of things going on. They tend to assess their physical mirror image... hair, posture, clothing...but that is about it. We see the physical version of ourselves that greets the world, but probably refrain from looking deeper.

As my sweet boy stood looking at his own reflection, he would never understand what I see. His Golden beauty is evident, but what I truly see is his loving heart, amazing personality and the memories we share. Seeing his dear face opens the doors to who he truly is on the inside

People are the same way. We meet a friend and are made aware of their appearance for a moment or two. However, if we believe they look healthy, we immediately see the person within. Memories, personalities, and their inner beauty takes precedence over any outward appearance. We see their heart

For me, that is something to remember. When friends and loved ones look at us, they see what is beyond what they see with their eyes...they are looking with their hearts.
