Day 746
After 'Donuts With Grownups' at Sweet Asher's school, I grabbed Ranger and we were off to see some of our seniors. Lilly usually is my choice for Friday, but she has a nasty big bug bite on her head. Although she can't visit her friends because of RX all over her noggin, somehow she seemed to know where her brother was going and she wanted to GO! Poor baby!
When we arrived, Ranger looked out the hatchback to find out where we were. Having been there once, he just needed time to figure it out! Sure enough, he seemed to recognize the place, jumped down, shook off his anxiety and headed for the front door.
We entered and he was welcomed with love, treats and belly rubs. He was one happy, tail-wagging boy!
New places can be daunting for the best of us! A new job, school, city or even the first time at a restaurant can be challenging. Walking in, the rules are already in place and there's no manual!
If we could only put aside our hesitation and embrace all of the 'newness' with excitement...our stress level would be low!
Like Ranger, the next new venue I encounter, I will...
Look around.
Take stock of the layout.
Shake off any anxiety.
Head in with a positive attitude!
After all, what's the worst thing that can happen? You walk right back out the door! However, there's a good chance it will be a great, new adventure! Just ask Ranger!
