Day 741
Can there be too much of a good thing? Well, according to my Golden Boys, the answer would be "Never," but Lilly would beg to differ.
After her 20 minutes or so in the lake yesterday, our sweet girl could not warm up! I noticed a small quiver which turned into a full-blown shaking session. Enter towels, heater and lots of rubs. Finally, she warmed up. She loves the attention, but I will be watching her lake minutes from now on!
I put the theory of "Too much of a good thing" to the test a few years ago. After a wonderful Christmas Eve, filled with chocolate goodies galore, I spent Christmas Day in the ER with the mother of all migraines! It was horrible! Later, thinking that it might have been a fluke, I decided to test once again at the State Fair. With a bucket of Sweet Martha's Chocolate Chip Cookies in my hands, I began my experiment. After another debilitating headache, I had to say farewell to chocolate. Too much of a good thing indeed!
Taking this concept to the next level, can you...
*Love too much?
*Give too much?
*Help too much?
...I don't think so. Giving up your heart, hands, time and compassion can never be "Too Much."
Now, if you asked me if you can have to much of a good thing in numbers of Goldens, I would have to say "No!" My husband, who religiously checks my food for 'chocolate contamination," would disagree. Four pups should be enough, but they are like potato chips...I can't stop with just one!
