The Goldens are in Heaven! They are never happier than when they can be swimming at the family cabin!

Golden retrievers were bred to love water. Even though humans need water for their very existence, beyond that, it seems that it beckons most to the shore of any body of water. The ebb and flow of the ocean, the current of a river or the stillness of a lake without a ripple. Water draws me to its edge over and over.

In addition, the wildlife is hypnotizing. Swans, eagles, loons, deer, turtles, whales, manatees (my favorite) and countless more living things gather in or near this gift. Sitting quietly, and allowing the senses full reign, is one of my favorite pastimes.

As I encourage everyone to find a spot near water...as often as possible... I will enjoy the "less peaceful" joy of my Goldens as the take turns jumping off the dock until they are happily exhausted. Water...what a treasure it is.
