Day 700

No privacy... anywhere, anytime, any place! The Goldens MUST be with us at all times. If we decide to get them away from us, their 'sad faces' gain them access immediately!

Having my Goldens as constant companions is a gift...it truly is. Needing them to be safe (or company safe) is the only time we choose to place them on the other side of a gate.

Most people are fine with dogs nearby, but having humans nearby at all times may cause a different reaction. Some people need their space.

The people in my life could easily be placed on a continuum from introvert to 'life of the party'. Of course, they could slide along that line from time-to-time, depending on circumstances, but most would scurry back to their comfort zone.

Personally, I am not an extravert, but find myself happiest when loved ones are near. The one goal I avoid is finding myself a spot to think, ponder and reflect...with no outsiders allowed. It works for a short time, but I gravitate back towards my people before long.

The Goldens help with that endeavor. If I am writing, reading or simply planning, those 'beasties help with my Alone Time. Seemingly, I need loved ones nearby (just ask Mac).

Whether an extrovert, introvert or somewhere in-between, it seems to be a healthy goal to carve out a bit of 'Quiet Time' now and then. It cleanses the pallet of our busy brains and allows us to embrace new ideas. Not a bad thing...as long as there is a dog at your feet!
