Day 699
One would think there would be any number of things to grab the attention of my Goldens...
*Lake
*Swans
*Boats
*White squirrels
*Birds galore
*Scents on the breeze
...and so much more! Their attention, however, is on their humans! Every step taken is followed by four sets of brown eyes.
Their devotion humbles me and makes me want to do a better job of being their human. The sign on the refrigerator reads:
"Please, God. Make me the person my dog thinks I am!"
Being perfect in their eyes would be a hard order to fill!
Looking at the situation in reverse, my eyes have been opened. What if I became more doglike? If I didn't judge, loved unconditionally, supported others without any holds barred and never worried about earthly possessions. Add protecting others with no thought for my own safety, complete trust, no expectations (enjoying what came my way) and judging others by the goodness of their hearts. Now, that is a goal worth setting my eyes on...becoming more Golden!
