Day 608
Touch is such a gift. The Goldens almost constantly touch each other and often use another sibling as a pillow. They don't seem to mind and almost seem to crave that interaction.
Receiving a loving touch from one of their humans is just as desired by our pups. Choosing to be near, with a paw often touching our feet, is a common occurrence. Sitting on the couch with their head in our lap is a coveted position as well. Touching is what Goldens do.
A gentle human touch offered to another person can be a gift as well. There have been a multitude of times , when Therapy Dogging, that I have been compelled to offer a touch on a shoulder or offer a hand to hold. Knowing when to make that connection is a simple decision when you look into someone's eyes...the need for someone to connect can be humbling.
Whatever the reason for touching, my Goldens would agree it is a two-way gift. Everyone wins when kindness allows for love to be shared...and my pups usually get a back scratch out of the deal!
