Day 528
It's official!!!! We now have three incredible Therapy Dogs...and one more in training! Gus seemed to know something was special during his photo shoot and posed for the camera. Oh, the adventures we will share!
Looking back almost 15 years ago, I saw my first Therapy Dog at Mercy Hospital. Intrigued, I approached the team and asked a few pertinent questions. One of the answers led me to observe a class in session and I was hooked!
Poor Arthur! At the age of six, he didn't know what hit him! Having never been in a class, we began our 32 weeks of courses and discovered you "can teach an old dog new tricks!” After he passed all of his tests, we were off and running!
Lilly and Ranger joined us a couple years later and were certified by age one. As dear Arthur slowed down, the "twins" stepped in and seemed to love every visit!
Now there is Gus, with Sam in training to follow in his siblings’ paw prints!
Throughout my Therapy Dogging, I have been blessed with wonderful adventures, surrounded by amazing people and humbled every step of the way. Having a front row seat to the magic the Goldens bring, like a beautiful aura, has been and is heartwarming. There have been tears and laughter, along the journey so far, but the rewards outweigh it all!
Life would not be the same without the view from this end of the leash! I am so glad I happened to see that Therapy Dog so many years ago! Coincidence...I don't think so...
