Day 525

This boy has energy to burn!!!! Our Sammy turned one last July, so we are patiently waiting for the Zoomies to recede and a calm, mature Golden to appear...we may have to wait awhile!

Sam has a following of fans on our walks. Crossing guards, neighbors and even other dogs know him well. Just today, I gave a wide birth to our neighborhood pedestrian guards and told them I would give them a break from his exuberant 'loving' for once. They laughed, but didn't argue!

Having done my share of training, I can see his potential. He is smart, quick to learn and a real "people person!" These traits also tend to get him in trouble:

"Mommy, if I jump on the nice crossing guard, she will notice me and love me! Right???"

"Hey, Mama! There is NO way you can escape from me. I will find you anywhere...ANYWHERE!"

"If I run around the back yard and jump on the Senior Goldens, they will play...right?"

"I know how happy you are when I sit, so I can repeat that for you over and over within a few seconds!"

"I love treats! I love my Golden family! Mommy, I love you most of all!"

The final "quote" melts my heart every time. Sam loves me with every inch of that wiggly body. There is nothing sweeter than a devoted puppy... even when they have the Zoomies! Those eyes, and the Golden paw on my arm, are so very endearing...perhaps that's why we put up with the puppy stage.

Now, if I could just have HALF the energy Sam has, I would be satisfied!
