Day 402

Jimmy is home from California for a vacation and, suddenly, laughter filled the house! Even the dogs seem to be grinning from ear-to-ear as they surround him with Golden love.

Being an actor, Jimmy has a quick wit and always knows how to make people laugh. There are never any sarcastic remarks or questionable jokes, but he can get a room laughing faster than anyone I know!

Laughter has been deemed "good medicine" and I believe that is a fact. Sitting around the table at dinner tonight, we laughed throughout the entire meal. Even Asher commented on the fact that his tummy hurt from laughing so hard.

In my past, I can remember many times when I was simply lost in the humor found in a situation. Once or twice at church, at an installation for Eastern Star, staff meetings and so many other times when it was NOT acceptable to laugh out loud. Holding it in was next to impossible, but I hoped nobody else noticed the shaking pew or the bowed head pretending to take notes.

When laughter is real and productive, it can be a true catharsis of the soul! Research has shown that laughing can release endorphins, which are the bodies feel good hormone. So, humor is good for you and it is free of cost...a real win/win situation!

As long as jokes do no harm by offending the audience, I believe they are great medicine! The laughter is still echoing around the dining room table and I, for one, feel revitalized by the sheer act of belly laughs galore!

In my estimation, we need to complain less and laugh more...focus on the positive and then share humor with those who need it most. You won't regret it and neither will your audience!
