Day 312

3/24/23

Lights are a beautiful thing to me. Christmas lights, gazebo lights, night lights and more...all lend a hand to making a house a home. We even have a small lamp in the kitchen that we call the Nanny Lamp (in honor of my own Nanny) where I am reminded of her loving presence baking cookies throughout my childhood.

Tonight, we had an amazing view from above the Los Angeles area. Lights indeed!

Before heading up the mountain, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner with a true friend and supporter of Jimmy. When we first moved my son out to Burbank, we had a chance encounter with John at Disneyland as we waited for the train. This amazing mentor saw something in Jimmy, gave us his card and their friendship had wings. I continue to feel grateful for the many people fate has brought into my son's life.

Back home, in the middle of the night, we use a night light to guide us over sleeping Goldens. Lilly will always show her beautiful white face, which glows in the dark to some degree, to remind us not to step on a paw or tail. Ranger skitters out of our way as if to say, "I know you are going to step on me!!! I am out of here!" The youngest are tucked in their crates with a soft glow on their sweet faces from the dim, glowing light of night lights, street lights and the moon.

Lights are such a comfort in my life. I can't imagine life without that glow.
