Day 273

2/13/23

Our Sammy absolutely LOVES his Snuggle Puppy! This stuffy, for dogs, comes with a microwave heating bag AND a beating heart! Every night, we tuck Sam into his kennel with "Snugs." Our youngest pup cuddles up with his treasure and calms right down. When I check on him during the night, I often find him with his paws wrapped around his best friend!

Looking around our home, I have to admit that there are many "treasures" throughout! I am an unabashed collector of teddy bears and they tend to hang around the house, bringing me much joy. Many of these adorable, fluffy friends have been given to me as gifts from people I truly love. I have taken empty spools of thread, placed the giver's name on the wooded piece and then hung it around the teddy bear's neck. Those bears mean so very much to me!

There are other items I hold dear and I keep them where they can be seen. Gifts, rocks, Disney reminders, memories from my children and so much more all seem to find a prominent place in our home. When I see them, or actually hold them, it brings a certain peace and warms my heart.

I also have a "Box of Memories." Within the container are letters, pictures, artwork, cards, and so much more. When I have a day where I find myself in need of some extra love, I have only to open the lid and sift through the treasures within.

These "things" are not living, nor are they worth anything monetarily. However, to me, they are precious and always bring a smile or a tear. What the Box of Memories holds is recollections of loved ones near, far or gone from my world. I wouldn't trade one item in that box for anything!

As for Sam, he only has one treasure, but that is all he needs. His "Snugs" comforts him and calms his little heart. Sammy and I are fortunate indeed to have these things in our lives.
