Day 272

2/12/23

Music is such an integral part of my life. Dance lessons, piano lessons, choir, marching band, percussion ensemble, concerts, church and so much more have been part of my journey.

When I sit down to play in the front hall, it is only a moment before my Goldens saunter in to hear the concert. Ranger is always first, but it doesn't take long for the pack to join him. Sometimes, Mac will sit on the floor and all four pups will snuggle in for the concert. I love to play the piano and sincerely appreciate my charming audience!

On Friday night, we were fortunate enough to attend an Anoka Community Concert. The artist for the evening's entertainment turned out to be a pianist who played music from the 60's and 70's. Jason 'Floyd' Coleman is the grandson of legendary Floyd Cramer who accompanied Elvis, Patsy Cline, Brenda Lee, the Everly Brothers along with so many other artists. His grandson, following in his footsteps, did not disappoint!

As I sat back and enjoyed the evening, it did not take me long to realize the entire auditorium knew every lyric...they were humming or singing along. Normally, this might be somewhat distracting, but in that venue, it only added to the charm of the concert. It didn't hurt that this mostly senior crowd was right on key!

I have sometimes thought it would be amazing if we all carried around a soundtrack in our heads as background music for our lives. Happy music for joyful times, comforting tunes in times of trial, possibly 'Ride of the Valkyries' while driving through the mountains...you get the idea! I suppose that will be possible some day!

If that day ever comes, Walking With Goldens would usually have something playing like 'Clair de lune'. I have to wonder what my Goldens' soundtrack would be...perhaps 'The William Tell Overture'?
