Day 274
2/14/23
Happy Valentine's Day! It was a day full of love AND a day full of Golden Love!
Due to the inclement weather this morning, I loaded Ranger in the car and we went from Walker to Mercy to spread some love. This boy sure knows how to play his cards...especially if there is a possible treat in the mix!
We had a few brief encounters with our beloved seniors at Walker before we took off for our next destination. Watching my Golden Boy work his magic was like watching love float back and forth between dog and resident. Even in the hallway, our short visits sometimes end with someone declaring that they LOVE Ranger. Looking into their eyes, I believe they mean it!
At Mercy, we headed to administration where our two doctors were out of their offices. Ranger stood in front of both closed doors, drooling like he hadn't eaten for weeks! He needn't have worried since some of the office personnel Love him to pieces. Three different friends RAN to get him treats that they had in their own desks! He felt the love!
Patients, staff, and visitors all show their appreciation for his visits and many actually say the words, "I love you, Ranger." Of course, the feeling is mutual as long as there are ear rubs and back scratches. All my Goldens love people...all people!
The three at home were waiting in the window when we arrived. You would have thought we had traveled the world and were just returning after months away! Lilly danced, Gus ran around in circles and Sam rolled over on his back crying like a little puppy. If that's not love, I don't know what is!
Love is such an elusive thing to define, grasp or illustrate. It warms the heart, brings out the best in people and allows the loved one to feel treasured. Love is truly the most perfect gift we can offer or receive. Lilly, Ranger, Gus and Sammy would agree!
