Gus is doing so much better and Sammy couldn't be happier. All the Goldens have been hovering, but Sammy is the most intent on being right there.

As we had a slumber party under the Christmas tree last night, I found myself remembering other times when healing took place in this very room. Mac's heart surgery was one such time.

The day of his surgery fell on Super Bowl Sunday. The "team" that showed up that morning was amazing! After the procedure was over and Mac was starting to wake up, I told him that the Vikings had won! Watching closely to see if he was OK, I saw my husband squint in my direction and slowly shake his head "NO!" He was on the road to recovery.

As Gus heals, short visits from his four-legged siblings might just be the best medicine! Sam would agree!

How humbling to know that we can help a person (or pup) in medical or emotional need by simply connecting. It is a super power we all have and it doesn't cost a cent! Good thing because Sammy doesn't even have a piggy bank!
