Day 1043
This morning Ranger read to students at the neighborhood elementary school. The students are always so kind and loving…making our big Golden one happy therapy dog. His tail wagged during the entire visit!
Listening to the young readers and enjoying each interaction, I realized I was in one of my Happy Places. These special spaces, activities or events in our lives all have a few things in common.
They bring us joy.
They are full of joyous memories.
They make the outside world disappear.
They take away our worries.
Our Happy Meters are on high!
The realization hit me that I do not spend enough time in my Happy Places. It also is apparent to me that it is a choice. Spending so much time in neutral “places” (vacuuming, decluttering, etc.) is sometimes necessary, but more time needs to be spent where the joy lives!
Garden, hike, read, rest in a hammock… whatever makes you happy…choose it! For me, if all else fails, my Happy Place can be found anywhere surrounded by Goldens!
