Day 1032
Dogs simply don’t worry! Of course there are the anxious moments when it’s half past “tummy time”, but looming possible catastrophic events are not part of their daily routine. They live in the moment.
Personally, I have a vivid imagination that often includes “Worst Case Scenarios”. If a loved one has a temperature, a dog is near an open door or the car is making funny noises, I predict catastrophe! 99.99% of the time, my prophecy does not materialize, but that doesn’t stop me! Three or four times, in my entire life, I have been right! Those few occasions spur me on!
Dealing with problems when they actually arise is my goal. My college roommate offered this thought: “Think of all the time you WASTE in worry! All of that time could have been spent being positive and productive!” (Seemingly, my issues date back to the 1970’s!)
So, another lesson my Goldens can teach me is this: Try to save your “worry efforts” for a time when there is actually something to legitimately worry about! The test of life can be spent productive snd happy! I am a work in progress!
