Much has been said about “creature comforts,” but nobody enjoys them more than the Goldens. Long ago, our pups slowly took over the couches and beds. Even though there are doggy beds littered throughout the house, the human furniture is much preferred!

What is it about furniture that draws you in? Comfort, memories, functional… there are many reasons to choose a certain place to unwind.

As far as comfort, there are two or three pieces that simply enfold you within their “arms.” These are the destination for relaxing and decompressing. Their best trait is luring someone into a “yummy nap!” These are an essential part of any home’s furnishings!

Functional pieces are my least favorite. A computer chair, a piano bench or any orher piece chosen for its utility, often leans towards use instead of beauty! You will not find many in our home!

The memorable pieces are often my favorites. They may not exude comfort and often have limited use, but the memories make them cherished.

I have a rocker that must be 100 years old…my Nanny rocked me in that chair and it is a treasure.

There is a couch that is bit too firm, a desk that’s a bit short and other items that are still with us because they hold memories. Hopefully, they will be passed on for years to cone.

Sometimes, I choose a room, sit in a comfy chair and walk down Memory Lane with the things that have found their home in the Big White House. We are glad they surround us… making this house our home. Luckily , these pieces don’t even mind a little Golden Glitter now and then!
