Day 1004
Gus received a Valentine card in the mail from his girlfriend. He was quite excited by the missive and kept it close by his side. We quickly made a card of our own and included a shock of doggy fur as an added surprise! I am sure that Aubry and her Colorado family were charmed!
As a child, the Valentine’s Day party was a favorite! Decorating a box, signing a host of small cards and mailing them in the classroom was magical! As a teacher, the “excitement barometer” was off the charts on the day of the party! Kids love Valentine’s Day!
Adults seem to be in one of two camps. The first embraces the day with flowers, candy and cards while the second tends to feel it is just a ‘Hallmark Holiday’! I tend to be a member of the first club. Any chance to share the love is certainly in my wheelhouse!
How lovely it would be if the two camps met in the middle! People could save on roses and chocolates while the naysayers might just open their hearts a bit. Even better… perhaps the day could instill that loving nature throughout the entire year!
Whether Valentine’s Day finds you crlebrating to the max or simply staying home for a cozy evening by the fire, try to embrace a little love and feel a bit freer to tell people they are loved! It sure works for Gus and Aubry…tomorrow will find them full of “Puppy Love”!
