Day 910

In our “walking” my Goldens visit many veterans. It is a privilege to know them. Today, I was thinking about all of these amazing people who served our country and decided that they stand apart in a special way…

They stand a little taller, have a bit deeper love of county and have formed bonds that the rest of us can’t quite relate to. Their time serving our beautiful country often made them stronger and more resilient. Their pride in serving is almost palpable.

The stories these veterans tell are humbling. The bravery, determination and dedication while serving has led to pride in the stories they share. It has also brought most deep and abiding friendships that go deeper than the rest of us can fathom!

When the National Anthem plays, these amazing patriots are the first to salute, place their hand over their hearts or wipe away a tear. We can only imagine what memories they hold. However, we can honor them on Veterans’ Day and thank them for their service which allows the rest of us to live our lives freely.

Thank you, veterans…I will always be filled with gratitude for your sacrifice.
