Day 875
I am so seldom alone and I like that arrangement! However, out of necessity, I needed to get our pontoon to the landing for pickup/storage. This daunting task was simply not an option…and it needed to be done solo!
With the Goldens looking on, we got up at the crack of dawn (literally) and headed to the dock. I was already feeling a bit of success when it actually started! With a push from Mac, I set out on my voyage!
The water level was low, so I gave all weedy areas a wide margin. The buoys had already been collected from the lake, so there were no markers to rely on. To my horror, the prop hit some underwater rocks! Slowing down, fearing that the motor sounded like it wanted to “kill,” I kept going. Across the lake, through a channel and into the next lake I boated. Since the sun was coming up, I began to enjoy the beauty and my solitude. Finally, I saw the landing with John Wayne standing on the end! As he waved (It was really Mac.), I was ever so happy to give up my solitary ways!
The boar is in hibernation, the Goldens have their mama back safely and I have had my fill of being alone! I won’t complain about my crazy, full life ever again!
