Day 811

Whenever we approach the door, all of our Goldens truly believe that adventure awaits. Our destination might be a Therapy Dog venue, a walk, trip to the grocery store or something wonderful. They make me smile because the excitement builds for any departure. When they don’t get to go, they never hold a grudge.

Holding a grudge is so foreign to me. It simply never became part of my repertoire of reactions to people. If there is a misunderstanding, I have my arms open for any reconciliation. Holding a grudge is not a part of who I am.

There are people in everyone’s life who embrace grudges like a badge of honor. Someone, very close to my heart, attempted to explain the value of grudge holding. In her words, “They will never hurt you or disappoint you again.” This lady could get an Olympic Gold Medal for “grudging!"

When you stay angry at anyone, that negative energy takes its toll. Someone once said, “It is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to get sick!" No thank you!

After an outing, where the pups are not invited, our return is met with joy, smiles and wagging tails! They understand that pouting for being left behind and holding a grudge, will only make THEM miss out on the open arms that let them know they are always loved! Being more Golden this time is easy…I just have to open my arms!
