Day 756
Noises can be scary for all of us! For our Goldens, fireworks, security system alarms and thunder top their fears, but they are now dealing with an additional fright...Alexa!
Recently, our 'Alexas' have been emitting a high-pitched squeal now and then. When it happens, all four come running for our protection! We especially dislike the sound in the middle of the night!
There are noises that frighten individuals due to past experiences. For Mac, a Vietnam Vet, anything that replicates gunfire or explosives is disturbing. For me, unidentified sounds in the night, children crying or dogs whimpering make my list. For others, it could be anything associated with a fearful experience. Noises can certainly get the adrenaline flowing!
We all tend to run for comfort when a noise frightens us. Hurrying towards a loved one is often the first reaction. There certainly are safety in numbers...just ask my Goldens!
Tonight, we will unplug our 'Alexas' and hope for a good night's sleep. If one of those machines still screeches, we will plan to 'run for the hills!'
