Day 752

Today, our senior Goldens turned 11... where has the time gone? Much like children, we think back and tend to forget any imperfections or mischief they brought to our lives. (As puppies, the Dynamic Duo DID eat our entire kitchen floor!) They have been such amazing family members and volunteers out in the world. They humble us each and every day with their love, devotion and companionship.

Even though we had a day off from Therapy Dogging, they still touched a few hearts. Lilly and Ranger delivered gifts to our favorite crossing guards this morning. Then, Ranger hopped in the car to bring a retirement present to a beloved friend in Mercy Hospital 's administration. Next, there were Pup Cups from the DQ and time spent together on the front porch.

They ask for so little and give so much. These two have no idea what an impact they have made on this hurting world. From comforting patients, families and staff at the hospital to loving all of our senior friends, they offer all they have. Reading with children and visiting other venues makes them beloved by many, but that's not why they do it. They do it because they have hearts of Gold.

I have learned so much from these pups (Gus and Sam too) and continue to strive to become more "Golden." On their eleventh birthday, they ARE the gift...and they don't even know it. They simply continue to love and fill so many lives with beauty.

Happy Birthday to two amazing souls. You make this world a better place and we love you dearly!
