Day 710

"Home is where the heart is"...a well-known sentiment indeed. Sitting on my front porch with my Goldens this morning, I embraced that saying wholeheartedly! However, I would include a couple of additions.

As much as I love The Big White House, if it were stripped to the bare walls, it wouldn't be home. Pictures, gifts, mementos and so much more, bring "home" to the house. There are plenty of "architectural additions" that, even though they don't add to the aesthetics, make it a home as well.

The Golden scratches on doors remind us that Goldens DO NOT like to be separated from their people! The two broken panels in our French doors also bring back memories of children at play. Marks on the living room ceiling help to recall a couple of remote-control helicopters that some loved ones were gifted at Christmas. Who knew they should have been an outdoor experience!

Most of all, it is the loved ones who live in, or visit, the house that makes it a home. My sweet husband, children, Asher, cousins and family friends breathe life and love into every corner. The Goldens are the icing on the cake!

My heart is certainly in the Big White House...as long as it is filled with memories, loved ones and Goldens ..lots and lots of Goldens!
