Day 64
7/15/22
After an emotional day of dog saving, today was relatively peaceful. As for Princess Di (new name for our rescue), her day was amazing! Relatively good report from the vet, grooming, freedom and so much love defined her day. Charlean adores her newest charge! With her golden's sweet, resilient spirit, the new mama feels like SHE is the lucky one! Princess Di would "beg" to differ!
In the meantime, our three enjoyed a morning on the front porch with their peanut butter bones, long walks by the river and some TV time in the living room. Their favorite channel is an add on called "Dog TV." It offers shows dedicated to dogs playing in the mountains, romping in the ocean and simply being dogs. Lilly sits on the couch and can watch for hours! She would be 100% happy if she could just pop some popcorn!
Today was also my last piece for the documentary now entitled, "Walking With Goldens". This was a challenge because it was in-studio at QCTV and no dogs were needed for the segment! I could have used a Therapy Dog!
It has been such a fascinating experience and I have learned so much about TV production and also myself. Questions were asked in the interview segments where I had to dig deeply into my own truths. It is never easy to explore your own beliefs and feelings, but has been a very insightful journey. I am glad I traveled down that path.
I didn't have a real clear picture of the morning, so I had conjured up many scenarios. Actually, I was alone in the darkened studio, sitting behind a desk and looking at a computer screen. It was silent except when the producer did sound checks and lighting changes.
I was delighted with the format, since I would be Zooming with my son out in California. Jimmy (an actor out in Burbank) is doing the voiceover work for the piece and the producer wanted to have a few minutes focused on our connection as mother and son. That connection is strong and, I am sure, the love was evident.
I was told that the documentary might be out in about two weeks. I only hope it helps people understand Therapy Dogs and the beauty they add to this world. I will make sure to post a link so you can see Lilly and Ranger in action!
