Day 630

There is something to be said for taking a nice, long, slow walk. Today, after a FAST walk with Sammy and a medium quick one with Gus Gus, it was time to slow everything way down. (Why is the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears coming to mind?) Asher arrived home from school, so he accompanied Lilly and Ranger on the last walk of the day. It was wonderful!

There were a few others out meandering about, so we took the time to stop and chat. People were in the best of moods so even my little buddy didn't mind a break in the action. The weather was nice and the slow pace allowed me to calmly enjoy every moment...

*The dogs were able to sniff to their heart's content.

*The sky was beautiful.

*A sweatshirt sufficed...no hat or gloves!

*Asher (on his scooter) was allowed to roll down the hills by the local church more than once...to his supreme delight!

*The conversation was precious:

Asher: "Hey, Nanny! We had art at school today!"

Nanny: "What did you create?"

Asher: "I made a bus...but I didn't like it much."

Nanny: "I am sure it was perfectly lovely!"

Asher: "Nope...I threw it into recycling."

Nanny: "Oh? Then what?"

Asher: "I drawed a new one that I liked so much better!"

Nanny: "Excellent!"

Asher: "Hey, Nanny! I knew the ugly bus should be recycled to help the earth. We should pick up the trash on our walk and keep the earth cleaner."

Nanny: "What a great idea!"

Asher: "Here you go! Put this stuff in your pockets, OK?" (Pencils, a headband, a pen, an eraser...)

Nanny: "My pockets are full now."

Asher: "You can just carry the rest of our stuff in your hands, right?"

It was such a lovely day for a nice, long, slow walk. Perhaps, every day should have at least one of these jaunts. Lilly and Ranger loved every minute and I did too! As for Asher, he would still be rolling down that hill if he could. This grandma is simply glad I didn't have to wash his coat when he got home! One of the grandmotherly perks!
