Day 503
We have been enjoying the last few precious days at the cabin. The gorgeous temperatures and amazing wildlife aromas are not lost on Ranger and Lilly. Our senior girl even enjoyed a couple swimming sessions along with Sam. Gus and Ranger put one paw in and headed inland!
There are certain vistas that hold our attention in this world. The Lake certainly fits into that category. Ever-changing, with waves, boats, birds and shadows, I never tire of the view. There have been occasions when people have asked if I prefer the mountains or the ocean. My reply is always, "How can you choose between them? One never ceases to change, while the other presents itself in stoic, unmoving majesty. I love the one best which is in front of my eyes."
In this frenetic world we live in, it is a gift to simply sit and gaze at nature's beauty. My mind calms itself for a bit and then I discover deep thoughts begin to emerge...one after the other. Some are worthy of contemplating, a few bring a smile and a memory, while others are fleeting. All of them honored and embraced. It is, as if, my mind begins to declutter as my attention remains on the beauty before me.
Although I am unable to "delete" some of the brain clutter, it does seem that I can prioritize thoughts while shelving others to the back while enjoying a nature break. When it is time to stand up and get back to my cabin-closing list, my spirit feels refreshed and I am ready to tackle anything!
Try to find time each day to look at something beautiful...a sunset, a garden, a Golden...and allow your mind to declutter. Ranger and Lilly would agree with all their hearts!
