Unexpected gifts are such a treasure to the soul!

Anyone who knows me well would tell you I am a Christmas Girl at heart. On Halloween Eve, after the last trick-or-treaters disappear, the smiling jack-o'-lanterns are matched down to the basement to magically be replaced by resplendent Christmas trees.

So, when my dearest Libby made this beautiful book for me, I was beyond touched and ready to fill the pages with everything Christmas!

The Therapy Dogs certainly deliver unexpected gifts! One of my favorite parts of being at the other end of the leash happens when their furry faces peer into a hospital room, or senior care apartment, and the person within reacts with such joy, I am humbled

Unexpected gifts can be extravagant or simple. A letter or phone call can make someone's day special. A plate of cookies or a small bouquet of flowers can do the trick as well. It is not in the cost, but that it comes from the heart.

Don't ever miss a chance to surprise someone with a gift or thoughtful gesture. Even a hug can change someone's day!
