Day 470
There is never a dull moment with this guy! After Lilly went on a visit to Walker, Ranger headed out to Mercy Hospital. To say that he made connections with people there is an understatement.
Of course, the first stop is administration where treats flow like the Mighty Mississippi! He gleefully performs his best tricks as he keeps his eyes peeled for treats! He can sit, go down, high five and DROOL! The staff was adoring...even laughing at his determined expression.
We went to 4 Heart next. Starting with the waiting room, that big Golden helped with a number of frayed nerves. Ranger has a way of calming anyone down and families gravitate to this Golden Boy.
Then, serendipity hit! Mac was chatting with one of the amazing PTs from the Heart rehab center. Chad took a special interest in my husband after his heart attack five years ago. He invited me to follow him to the workout center so Ranger could lower some blood pressures. Entering this part of the facility, a patient reached out her hand to my boy. Immediately, I recognized this wonderful lady as a fellow teacher, from years ago. To say I admire this woman would be an understatement. She has survived more than her share of challenges and still maintains her calm, beautiful presence. All of the pieces fit together for our reunion and I am grateful for the chance meeting.
My Goldens have brought so much love and life into my world. Old friends reunited, new friendships embraced and these pups don't even know what magic they make! I am so glad to be at the other end of the leash!
