Day 439
This girl is so relaxed she didn't move a muscle when I dropped my project on her! Sweet Lilly! She lives her best life up at the lake!
Speaking of projects, I purchased a new craft and looked forward to digging in! It is a Punch Needle stitching kit. Reading the directions once, twice and then again, I was ready to begin! As I began, it seemed cumbersome and unwieldy for this traditional gal, so I took a page from my dear son... "Adapt and Overcome!" Putting down the punch Needle tool, I grabbed a large needle (included in the kit for finishing touches), and reverted to needlepoint! Success!
Adapting and overcoming is not always the easiest avenue to travel. Abandoning a project and moving on might indicate defeat. The older I get, the more I can let go of plans and move in a different direction. In the past, that would have seemed to be a failure. Now, these "change-of-course" moments are embraced as a different kind of success. Almost every time, the project is completed with a much better outcome.
All four Goldens are asleep at my feet, so there is time to tackle that "needlepoint" once again. The next project near at hand is an afghan for Asher. Hopefully, my crochet skills won't challenge me! If they do, I will "Adapt and Overcome!"
