Day 373

This boy is the "Poster Child" for STUBBORN!!! Within the last year, Ranger has discovered that, if he simply sits down and refuses to move, he gets his way!

It seemed to start when he visited the Administration Offices at Mercy Hospital. He had two amazing doctors and numerous staff who ALL had treats behind their desks. He would go from one to another and charmed his way through the maze. When it was time to leave, he did his standard "SIT" (Mind you, there was no command from me!) and wouldn't budge! The staff was beyond entertained and lured him out the door with more treats! Ranger is in charge!

He has demonstrated to me that his Golden brain can transfer to other situations when he needs to show me who is boss! On walks, when he is tired, when it is bath time, when it is time to trim nails...you name it, his "stubborn self" shows me who is boss! With Ranger, I can't be too upset. He has me charmed as well!

I am not a stubborn person until one of the few lines in the sand has been crossed. When it comes to family and friends, I can be stubborn on their behalf if need be. When it looks like someone I love needs a champion, I can be very stubborn until they are given whatever they need.

Other than that, being stubborn never really solved any real problem. When one side is stubborn, communication falls apart and there is no room for compromise. From world relationships to Nanny/Asher conflicts (VERY few and far between)...communication is essential to move forward in the right direction.

There is a place for stubbornness in life, but being open and willing to listen to reason wins almost every time. As for Ranger, he gets by with his stubborn streak because his cuteness always trumps naughty!
