Day 335

4/16/23

My two seniors are beyond cherished! They bring so much joy to the world and also to me!

Today, I was thinking about the people Lilly and Ranger have brought into my life and I felt humbled beyond belief.

A few weeks ago, I met a young man while Ranger and I sauntered through the halls of Mercy Hospital. Most of the time, we stop and chat for a moment or two, but this was different…he was different. We chatted about loving dogs, dogs we have lost and puppies. Before we parted, a bond had formed and we exchanged information so we could continue growing our new friendship. He messaged me soon after our meeting and told me his family had decided to get a Golden puppy…thanks to his chance encounter with Ranger!

Today, we went out to meet this sweet puppy! Reuniting with our friend and meeting his wife simply made my day. As if that wasn’t enough, there was a puppy!!!! That little spitfire was beyond cute, smart and friendly! We shared a few puppy gifts for the new family member and then headed home. My new friend is a keeper!

There are SO many seniors at Walker who have come to live in my heart. Sonny, Don, Mary, Dave and Bobbi are only a few of the residents who deserve some extra love…and my goldens are ready to deliver! I am only there for two mornings each week, but each friend we encounter fills my heart.

Mercy Hospital has offered up some lifetime friends as well. Whether it is my Goldens meeting and greeting in the hallways, heading into
Administration or simply walking room-to-room, I have met a few people who will be a part of my life forever.

The school we visit every Thursday offers so many opportunities for friendships! Educators and children are so very close to my heart and Ranger pulls them right in. My life is enriched with every interaction!

Walking along the river has brought so many dear friendships. I have even met someone I now hold dear by just walking around the block! This lady, and her beautiful Golden Gracie, are true gifts!

How is it that I set out to brighten a few lives, but I am the one who gets to embrace the light? These two pups are truly golden!
