Day 227

12/28/22

Watching my Goldens interact is a lesson in relationships. Lilly and Ranger are always supportive and loving to each other. Gus and Sam adore each other, but are still testing the waters with the older two. My observations led me to ponder human relationships in my own life.

When considering the beginning and evolution of friendships, I have individuals who are near and dear to my heart from earliest memories to present day. From my childhood neighborhood memories, to Anoka schoolmates, college friends, colleagues at work and a variety of other avenues, there are people who I have bonded with and cherish.

Now, there are others who have been a part of my life along the journey and now have disappeared from my present life. These individuals run the gambit from acquaintances to people I deemed necessary for my very happiness. They moved on for various reasons and my life shifted down a new path. Although that path had a few turns and bends, it has proven to be a beautiful one.

All of those who have impacted my life...even for a short time...have made me who I am today. I am grateful for each and every interaction for, without those relationships, I wouldn't have the strength and resolve that follow me every day.

It is said:

We meet people for a reason...
a season...
or a lifetime.

Although I am most grateful for my "Lifetime People", I also find gratitude for those who have moved away or in a different direction. The life lessons learned from all the people I have met form an intricate web within my heart where I make choices and decisions. It is where that inner voice speaks out loud and clear.

Like a river, relationships all ebb and flow. I am so very grateful for all of the people who have impacted my life, but especially for those "Lifetime People" who continue to float, swim and ride the rapids with me. They are the biggest gift of all!
