Day 224

12/25/22

We gathered around the table, opened presents and felt so very fortunate to simply be together. Families are diverse and unique, but each one has that base of love and belonging.

Years ago, in my teen years, we would wait until very late on Christmas night and head to the skating rink. Braving the cold with my dear friend Marlene, we would head out on the local ice rink to share our memories of the day. There were no lights, no open warming house, no other skaters...just beloved friends marveling at the night sky and reminiscing about the most special of days. Wonderful, warm memories on a cold Christmas night.

As I cherished each and every moment of this day with my loved ones, I also looked at my sweet Goldens and felt like the luckiest Puppy Mama around. We have Gus at home with us. We all think that is the biggest gift we received this year.

Now, time to tuck everyone in for the night and count my many blessings. I'm hoping all the Golden Readers had an amazing day. You are all gifts to me in your own special way.

Merry Christmas!
