Day 202

12/3/22

Traditions are so important as you walk through life. The older I get, the more cherished they become. This time of year, there are many new and old ones that I hold dear!

I took my daughters to a "Christmas Tea" at The Mad Hatter in Anoka today. What a beautiful time shared with these ladies I have known for their entire lives. This, is a new tradition.

We also walked down to the tree lighting downtown...BRRRR! It was a great crowd full of people with their loved ones. What a wonderful sight to see! There were even fireworks, so needless to say, the Goldens stayed home! This is an older tradition that we love!

Another tradition is our Countdown to Christmas house. We slip small notes behind each door so that a special "something" will be enjoyed each day. The message might invite us to play a game, enjoy a piano concert with the dogs in the front hall or simply spend time together reading a good book. Each note helps us to celebrate this beautiful season.

Starting tomorrow, we are going to do one random act of kindness each day. Although we enjoy doing this throughout the year, it takes on a deeper meaning as we approach Christmas. We always feel like WE are the ones enjoying the kindness as much as the recipient!

The house is decorated, the gifts ready to wrap, the Christmas music playing in every room of the house and the baking is underway. We often talk about how fortunate we are as we look around at our many blessings...including the four Goldens at our feet.

So off we go to deliver surprises to unexpecting people...knowing it is really the giver who receives the best gift of all.
