Day 121
9/12/22
From sea to shining sea...almost! A quick trip to see my son in California meant leaving my Goldens back home. Mac kept an update many times a day, but I sure missed those furry faces, Mac and family too!
First, the trip was wonderful! Jimmy picked me up at John Wayne Airport and we headed to Disneyland! What a whirlwind day it was! We even shared a dessert with Nate Morrow (for all you Disney fans out there) and stayed until the park closed.
Next day to the ocean! What is it about that vast view that pulls me in by the heartstrings? The crashing waves? The salty air? The sea life? I am not sure, but it almost creates a longing in my soul. The majesty never fails to move me.
Dinner with Jimmy's adopted family was beautiful! Sitting by their pool, pizza oven creating incredible aromas and wonderful people surrounding us made for the perfect evening. His "second parents" are immigrants from Armenia who have opened their hearts and home to my son. (I love hearing them call him "Jeemie"!). Their own, grown children joined the party along with our dear friend, John, who has been a support and film industry mentor to Jimmy from Day 1!
A bit of relaxing, filling the shelves in Jimmy's apartment and a day at Universal Studios brought the trip to a close. Beautiful memories abound!
Now, as I sit in the airport, I have a flurry of emotions whirling through my heart. Supreme sadness leaving Jimmy, longing to see loved ones at home and great anticipation to welcome Sam tomorrow all fill my soul!
We are so ready to add this new pup into our world! Stay tuned for the "Hello Sam Day" tomorrow!
