Day 1067
Humor is an amazing thing! It can smooth an uncomfortable situation, lighten a mood or release endorphins into the body to create some happiness. I, for one, enjoy a good ‘belly laugh’!
I am not so sure that dogs have a sense of humor…at least Goldens. Perhaps other breeds have a funny bone. I believe our border collie/Australian shepherd mix did! Since she was the smartest dog I have ever known, there might just be a correlation between humor and intelligence! (Sorry, the researcher in me got carried away!)
No matter where we find the funny side of life, it certainly brightens the day and I am grateful for those people in my life who make me laugh!
There have also been situations that have occurred where I could not STOP laughing. When a certain beloved friend slipped on a rock and fell into Lake Superior, another who got caught on barbed wire while crawling over a fence and other times when my laughter was a barrier to any assistance I could offer! It’s hard to lend a helping hand when you are rolling on the ground laughing!
There have been a few moments when I was attending a serious ceremony and something tickled my funny bone. The more you try NOT to laugh, the more hysterically funny something seems!
After confessing that much of my humor comes from people in a precarious position, I should probably check my own intelligence as it correlates to humor! No matter what makes us laugh, humor brightens the world!
