Day 1056

We all know our place! When we sit on the front porch, Lilly is up front to warn of “stranger danger," Sam sits underneath the wicker couch, Ranger reclines ON the couch and Gus simply tries to stay out of everyone’s way. When any one of the four changes position, it throws the entire Halo of Goldens into a froth. Today, they remain settled at their home base!

People are not so different. When everyone stays in their ‘zone of expectations’, the world remains on its axis. If one character in the cast of players pivots and does not remain in their expected place (role), it sets the earth on tilt. That is not necessarily a bad thing.

There are times in our lives when we have to be the person who steps outside of everyone’s expectations and takes a gentle stand. The real power comes when that individual rarely steps outside of their box. It is a hidden Super Power!

For me, it is so much easier to “go with the flow.” The faces of others reflect acceptance and approval. Every once in a blue moon, it can be self-nurturing to move a step away from everyone’s expectations and take a stand. As unsettling as it might feel, it is also quite liberating. The icing on the cake…self-respect!

Just now, someone had the audacity to walk by with three dogs! While the others sat back and watched, Gus gave them his famous ‘Golden Howl!' The others took one look at his “stand” and ran through the open door into the house! Gus is feeling pretty confident…and that’s a rare thing indeed! Go get ‘em, Gus!!!
