Day 1047
“All I Need to Know, I learned in Kindergarten” is a book near and dear to a teacher’s heart. Although there is some truth to that title, life is a journey of learning and, today, we spent some time with the wisest of all…those nearing the end of that learning road. Our seniors have such wisdom and Gus and I attended “school” today at their philosophical feet.
Lessons from today:
*Even though you can’t see or hear well anymore, as long as you still enjoy life, it’s worth living!
*When you feel lost, look around for someone you trust to lead the way.
*Give love freely and don’t ever hold back…you can’t save it up for a rainy day!
*If you look into someone’s eyes, you will know if they are trustworthy.
*Sometimes, people unexpectedly come along when you need them the most… it can save your life!
Also, from a younger individual full of wisdom:
*Even when the road ahead looks endless, keep putting one foot in front of the other… you will eventually get to your destination.
*A gentle touch can soothe the stormiest sea…or individual,
*Sometimes it is hard to see how amazing and deserving of love we are when we are walking through a dense, dark forest of everyday challenges. Perhaps looking up through the branches, we can find the stars that shine down on our worthiness.
Wow! Gus and I learned so much today…and we didn’t even have to pay tuition!
