Celebrating Ranger’s 500 Visits!

Our Rock Star made it onto the CBS local news tonight … along with his sweet friend, Gunnar! Of course, Ranger wasn’t aware of the hubbub, but proceeded to simply do what came naturally… tail wagging, sniffing and smiling his Golden Smile! However, as the cameras rolled, something beautiful happened. Approaching Gunnar, his entire being shifted. Sensing that the other Golden was sick, he wagged his way over and actually licked Gunnar’s nose. Those surrounding the two seemed to collectively hold their breath and eventually let it go with a loving “ahhhh”. They had just witnessed the purest form of empathy.

Ranger is often proprietary about HIS hospital. Other dogs are seen as interlopers. This time, he didn’t hesitate to move in for a show of support and affection. It brought me to tears…along with others in the group.

What an absolute privilege to hold those leashes.
