Day 1

Well, friends...you notice this is a step slower than "Running With Wolves", but I would rather saunter with my golden retrievers when given most choices!

I am still writing books, but need to put these daily musings down somewhere...

I hope to write every day and share my delights, insights and musings as I encounter life on my daily walks with my precious crew. I usually take Lilly and Ranger after Gus takes ME for a walk! At 11 months, this boy is full of energy, craziness and love!

Today, I had the privilege of visiting our amazing seniors at a nearby senior residence. Lilly and Ranger are certified Therapy Dogs, so we are allowed to meet and greet our friends on a weekly basis.

It was Lilly's turn and, to our amazement, it was vaccination day! Lilly was in her element as she greeted residents waiting for their turn and those who needed to spend a bit of time to make sure there was no reaction after their vaccination. As Lilly used her amazing gifts to comfort and entertain, I allowed my heart to roam around the room. There was a WWII vet who greeted us both by name with a warm hug for me before reaching for his golden friend. I also saw a beautiful senior lady who had recently lost her charming husband right before his 100th birthday. I sat with her and got the chance to listen to her story. Another wonderful man greeted us as I remembered back to when he would come to our home as Santa each Christmas (He still has to most amazing twinkle in his eye!).

The list goes on and on. These amazing individuals, who have lived a long life, now have the opportunity to share their wisdom and knowledge with anyone who might want to listen. I am so very blessed to be their audience.

Most days, we walk along the river, but some days, we visit hospitals, senior living complexes, schools and other venues. Join me as I ponder what touches my heart as I "Walk With Goldens.”
